Well, look who has, in half a year, become up-to-date with the book world -- enough to write a "10 MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS POST".
I wanted to write another Valentine's themed post but LOL NO my brain didn't cooperate. So instead of a romantic post (haha) you get one more bookish one, and honestly, this is so much more my thing XDD
10. Fallen Leaves
by Tessa Emily Hall
Hi look, this is the sequel for Purple Moon!! I'm hoping Fallen Leaves will do a great job at wrapping up story lines and mysteries from book one. Tessa did an amazing job with Purple Moon; it was about an artistic girl and a lovely lakeside town and a coffee shop job and church kids and teen hardships and the challenge of change and redemption (and a romance was a tad too speedy in my opinion). I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
9. Love Needs No Words
by Faith Potts
"Home from college for the summer, Shay Williams has many plans. Crossing paths with her childhood crush was not on the list. Yet when Daniel Rogers, a young mute man, reappears in her life, the friendship that once blossomed between them is rekindled."
I saw the synopsis for this and I WAS HOOKED. I've always wanted some DISABILITY in a romance, and I have great confidence in Faith, and she writes lovely romance, SO THERE. I'M ALL IN.

8. Fighting Back (or whatever it will be renamed)
by Ivie Brooks
"Their lives change as the government gains power and starts trying to control every detail of life. Underground rebellions come forward and begin to grow. Betrayal makes all things seem lost."
AHHHHHH EEEEHHHH. Ok, let me calm down for a moment here. I'm SO SO SO EXCITED for Ivie's first indie book, which is a contemporary/dystopian mesh, and having read the first couple of chapters I'M SO STOKED TO SEE HOW IT WILL TURN OUT.
7. Thunderhead
by Neal Shusterman
This was actually released already, and I just borrowed it from the library. I'm a huge fan of Scythe. It was about a utopian society governed by a huge computer brain and since death is no longer a threat of any kind, SOME PEOPLE need to be in charge or curbing the ever growing population. The first book was pure genius and I hope this one is too. :D
6. The Lost Continent
by Tui T. Sutherland
THE WINGS OF FIRE SERIES, which is all about dragons, is getting a book 11!!! Books 1 to 5 tell one story (following one prophecy) and books 6 to 10 tell another story (following another prophecy) and I'M HOPING THE NEXT FIVE BOOKS LIVE UP TO THE FIRST TEN. You seriously NEED to go get the first ten nooks because they are about prophecies and chosen ones and arena fights and lost heirs and mysterious murders and kidnapping plots and THE END OF THE WORLD pretty much ... so yes XD
5. The 49th Mystic
by Ted Dekker
by Ted Dekker
TED DEKKER! TED DEKKER! My favorite author! and THE CIRCLE SERIEEEEEEES!!!!! *ahem* apologies, everyone. But the Books of History Chronicles is my all time favorite fantasy series and THERE WILL BE ONE MORE BOOK. I cannot believe it!! Other Earth is pretty much my fantasy home and if you haven't read these books before GO DO SO RIGHT NOW.
4. Worlds Beneath
by K. A. Emmons
The Blood Race was a remarkable story about super powers, alternate realities, your true identity, and brokenness... and I NEED BOOK TWO IN MY LIFE. You do too!! The best part of this series is the connection between the past, present, and future -- AND THE DIMENSION. The writing is gorgeous, and LOOK AT THE COVER PLEASE. JUST LOOK.
by Taylor Bennett
EEEP :DD I have already READ this, but it won't be released until May. BUT IT'S STILL A NEW FAVORITE OF MINE!!! The gorgeous cover, the lovely Hawaiian setting, the beautiful characters, and the engaging premise and conflict. YOU NEED THIS AS SOON AS IT COMES OUT. (Don't worry - I'll be reviewing and promoting this later on lol.)
2. A Thousand Perfect Notes
by C. G. Drews
BY OUR VERY OWN PAPER FURY, CAIT. We've all been waiting for Cait to publish a book for soooo loooong, and NOW IT'S HAPPENING. I'm so going to preorder this as soon as it's closer to the publication date :DD I think it's about an obsessive parent and a pianist and a true love and a Australian setting so ...you should go look it up!!
by Nadine Brandes
The plan: use 36 barrels of gunpowder to blow up the Igniter King.
The problem: Doing so will destroy the family of the girl Thomas loves. But backing out of the plot will send his father and the other plotters to the gallows. To save one, Thomas will lose the other.
YAY AND HURRAY Nadine Brandes is publishing A HISTORICAL FANTASY STANDALONE ABOUT THE GUN POWDER PLOT!!! This has to everyone's most anticipated of the year - it even won an award for that ;)
Ok, now for a quick announcement: I'M GOING ON HIATUS FOR THE REST OF FEBRUARY. I have a lot of deadlines to catch up on, so I don't want blogging and commenting to get in the way. I'll still be reading your posts, so no worries ;) I won't completely disappear. Until I see you again, go and add these great books to your tbrs!!!
What is your number one anticipated release??
Oh boy, more great books to take up the reading time I have. Which is so little time, it's measured in negative numbers. XD But I'll definitely have to look these up! I'm especially excited for Fawkes . . . that cover is SO pretty.
ReplyDeleteBrianna
OH YES I AM HAPPY TO CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR TBR :DD OH dear, poor you, but seriously, same here!! FAWKES IS MY NUMBER ONE MUST HAVE so I get you ^.^ Thanks for commenting <3
DeleteOH MY GOSH, YOU MENTIONED MY BOOK AND NOW I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!!!! THANK YOU!!!! <3 <3 <3 AAAAAHHHH, I'm just so excited and I did a double take when I saw my name. I was like, "Whaaa??" I didn't even realize it was my title until I saw my name. OH MY WORD, MY EXCITEMENT LEVELS ARE THROUGH THE ROOF!! Thank you for your kind words!! <3 <3
ReplyDeleteYES, WORLDS BENEATH!!! I cannot wait to read book 2. I need it in my life and I must know what happened because that cliff hanger...
And I can't wait for Faith's book to come out. That synopsis is so aweomse. It has me feeling all kinds of emotions without having read it yet. XD
Great post. Have a wonderful hiatus. <3
~Ivie|Ivie Writes
IVIE IVIE IVIE YOU TOTALLY CRACKED ME UP HERE (and my mom cos I told her). YOU DIDN'T RECOGNIZE YOUR OWN BOOK TITLE HOW IS THAT??? LOL :p WE ARE ALL SO PUMPED FOR YOUR BOOK YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW XD
DeleteYES Kate's book! I even got to be on the street team so I was over the roof haha :DD
SAME. And thanks, my hiatus was too good apparently bc I slipped right back in even after I said I was back. Ugh.
IVIE'S BOOK IS LITERALLY MY TOP MOST ANTICIPATED 2018 RELEASE, I JUST CAN'T. *cough* xD
ReplyDeleteI really need to read Scythe! It sounds so good! And also Unwind by the same author - my brother keeps telling me to read that series... :D
Yes to Fawkes! And A Thousand Perfect Notes! Aaaaaaah, great post, Lisa! I'm so excited for several of these books! :D
Lila @ The Red-Hooded Writer
Sorry to barge in, but THIS COMMENT... *heart eyes* Y'all put the biggest smile on my face. <3 <3
DeleteYES LILA I KNOW JUST HOW YOU FEEL!!
DeleteAhhhhhhh I need to read Unwind too - someone keeps telling me. It's totally on my tbr. Scythe is sooo worth it though!
THANK YOU THANK YOU this post was mostly me fangirling haha
All of these sound awesome!
ReplyDeleteDON'T THEY?? :D
DeleteI'M EXCITED FOR ALL OF THESE TOO!!! (especially Ivie's and Cait's--they're going to be AMAZING)!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY GOOD FOR YOU GRAY!! I CAN'T WAIT EITHER!! <3
DeleteOh wow, all of those books look fantastic!! So can't wait for Ivie's book to come out :)
ReplyDeleteCatherine
catherinesrebellingmuse.blogspot.com
GLAD THEY CAUGHT YOUR INTEREST CATHERINE <3 (When Ivie's book comes out she'll be swamped with fangirls, I can tell you lol)
DeleteWhaaa?? I made the list!! ^_^ <33 I so hope you enjoy LNNW, Lisa! ;D
ReplyDeletePorch Swing Girl, A Thousand Perfect Notes, Fawkes, and Ivie's book all sound FABULOUS. :D <3
YES YOU DID AND I'M SURE I WILL <3
DeleteACK I 100% AGREE AND CAN'T WAIT TO READ THOSE :DD
Girllll I'm so excited for Worlds Beneath, as well as A Thousand Perfect Notes and Fawkes!!
ReplyDeleteYES, YES, AND YES, HANNE!!
DeleteI can't believe Ivie's releasing a book!! It sounds really good and I'm so excited to read it!! Her settings always sound so charming.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Scythe yet, but I'm quickly growing interest in it and might read it soon. Do you have any content warnings before I begin it? Also, I picked up a Ted Dekker book once but had to return it before I got the chance to read it (#regrets). The 49th Mystic seems really interesting though!!
Okay, I am SO IMPATIENT for Cait's book to release—the story just sounds so beautifully heart-breaking, plus more of her humor! XD
I've not read any of Nadine Brandes's books before, (but desperately want to), but I'm a sucker for historic novels and Fawkes looks really, really cunning and intriguing! :D It will probably be my first read by her, quickly followed by her other books. ;)
Have fun on hiatus, and good luck with those deadlines! :)
ME NEITHER!! Her setting for this one IS charming, if I dare say so in advance lol
DeleteOMW YOU SHOULD READ SCYTHE. Scythe was really clean and appropriate in my opinion, except for the expected violence with the plot line haha. Thunderhead had a few more issues (some language, suggested/crude scenes and so forth and so on but not TOO bad).
Aww you should really try Black. That one is my number one recommend of Ted Dekker's. It's part of the Books of History Chronicles which is made up of three separate series (which is about ... 13 books all together). :D
I AM SO PUMPED FOR CAIT'S BOOK. And you seriously seriously should see if you can read Nadine's Out of Time trilogy bc IT IS SOOOOO GOOOOOD...
Ivie's book is coming out this summer!!!!!! Am very, very excited for that - and your comments and excitement is only making me more and more impatient for it's release! I heard about the Wings of Fire book a bit ago, and I'm really hoping that they don't ruin the series by coming out with more and more and more until it's kind of pointless. There's a time for every series to end, and one of my biggest pet peeves is publishers and authors who don't understand that. But I am looking forward to seeing the book. And Fawkes!!!! I am so, so excited for the book to come out! The plot sounds amazing, and that cover is absolutely gorgeous! (Do I really have to wait until summer??)
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of some of these books before, but I will definitely check them out! I think my most-anticipated release is the final Penderwicks book (I screamed when I saw that it was finally coming out). That series is one of my favorites, and I've followed it for a long time and now it's finally ending!! So many great books are coming out this year, and I am so excited.
~True // atruewriter.blogspot.com
YES IVIE'S BOOK <3 I'm glad you are stoked too :D and yes, I'm seriously hoping the WoF series won't grt worse as it keeps going on. It happens too much ... I AM WITH YOU HERE WAITING IMPATIENTLY FOR FAWKES.
DeleteOOoh I've heard of the Penderwicks and I really should look them up. I keep confusing it with the Spiderwicks lol
Thanks for the long comment dear ^.^
*get
DeleteFawkes was so good! I got to read an ARC and just <33333333
ReplyDeletePorch Swing Girl, too! I just can't wait! I have a copy on my kindle and I'm planning to buy it when it comes out...so excited!
Ivie's book! A Thousand Perfect Notes! So many books this year that I am so, so, so excited to read!!!!!!!
NOOO FAIR GIRL why do you get to read it in advance?? *pouts* But at least now I have your word for it so I can safely preorder yay! (not that I wouldn't have otherwise lol)
DeleteYES LET'S FANGIRL OVER PORCH SWING GIRL IT'S TOO GOOD! One of my new favorite contemporaries, definitely.
*high fives*
I’m so sO SUPERSTOKED about Cait’s novel! It is, by far, one of my most anticipated releases this year too. WHY CAN’T THE RELEASE DATE COME FAST ENOUGH.
ReplyDeletexoxo Abigail Lennah | ups & downs
SAAAAAME ABBY. I'll be here screaming over it with you till it comes *impatient fingers tapping on the desk*
DeleteThis is such a great list! I haven't heard of most of these so I'll have to check them out ASAP!
ReplyDeleteAHHH THANK YOU HANNAH. Definitely check them out when you have the chance! I'm happy to add to your tbr lol
DeleteI personally don't have many anticipated reads but I'm looking forward to Cait's.
ReplyDeleteWell, lucky you - your tbr isn't about to fall onto your head then ;D But *nodnod* Cait's book is a highly anticipated read :DD
DeleteMy most anticipated release for 2018 is If I Live by Terrie Blackstock. It's the last book in the If I Run trilogy and I'm super excited to see how it ends. ;)
ReplyDeleteMY LIBRARY HAS THAT SERIES AND I'VE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT IT I MUST GET A HOLD OF IT!!!!! Hope it lives up to your expectations haha :DD
DeleteGO GET THE TRILOGY, LISA YOU NEED IT IN YOUR LIFE, I PROMISE!! <3 YES IT WAS PERFECTION
DeleteAHHHHHHH I AM SO SO EXCITED FOR KATE AND CAIT'S BOOKS!! The Blood Race blew me away.
ReplyDeleteI love this post so much! Bookish posts are so much fun to write. Am I right? ;)
xx Kenzie
AHHHH YES I CAN'T WAIT EITHER! Summer pls come soon ^.^
DeleteAwww I'm so happy you liked the post. Bookish posts are definitely my favorite to write. And read lol ;D
