what shall I write you for christmas [in which YOU VOTE THE STORY]

SO HEY this is just a quick post compared to usual. Next month I'll be talking about NOTHING EXCEPT one of my wips so I thought I should get this out as soon as I could XD

I had this great idea to give you all something fun for Christmas but I couldn't decide WHAT. So, I thought - why not let you all decide??

HERE'S THE DEAL. I will be writing you a SHORT STORY for Christmas, but I need your help to decide what kind of story. I have four ideas that I'd love to delve into, and it's your job to tell me which one!

Chances are you won't all agree, but that's okay. MAJORITY RULES. The story that gets most votes wins ;D

The contestants :

[working title]

genre: futuristic ordinary life

IN WHICH everyone just does online shopping and have their orders delivered to their doorstep but there's one little shabby corner store left on our main character's street, and she just happens to know the social outcast boy whose family runs it bc they go to the same school. Then Christmas time comes and ...

SORRY CAN'T TELL YOU MORE BC IT'S IN SPOILER ZONE.

but it's about smol disasters and unlikely heroes ...

[working title]

genre: magical realism/fantasy

IN WHICH I draw inspiration from Owl City's song "Peppermint Winter".

You only see Santa on Christmas Eve right?
Well what about his elves?

This is about a little girl who loves Christmas and how she meets this mysterious boy in the area and has a lot of fun with him and wants to be friends but SURPRISE she discovers he has a secret identity.

SORRY CAN'T TELL YOU MORE BC IT'S IN SPOILER ZONE.

but it's about magical friends and secret identities ...

[working title]

genre: contemporary/retelling

IN WHICH I attempt to retell the folktale of the Gingerbread Man and instead of food and animals it features humans and a little fugitive and a touch of mystery. Main character is on the run after being suspected of something and it will take a special someone to catch him/her.

SORRY THAT'S KINDA ALL I HAVE ON THIS ONE. (more brainstorming required)

but it's about running and hiding and trying not to be caught...

genre: fanfiction/retelling

IN WHICH I write a fanficton/retelling of The Lion King, from Scar's perspective with a TWIST - he's the good guy, and Mufasa is the questionable one. This one would be longer than a short story but has zero percent to do with Christmas XD

I'M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT WRITING THIS, WHETHER OR NOT FOR YOU ;D

but it's about a neglected smol lion cub and his tyrannical elder brother and how he brings justice to Pride Lands ...

SO, WHAT SAY YOU, MY DUDES??
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR VOTE IS BELOW IN THE COMMENTS ;D

xx lisa

  13. Okay for the Christmas part, definitely Boy Next Door. I'm in love with the concept already. But I also really want to read the Lion King retelling because I love that movie so much that I apparently talk about it all the time without even noticing (my mom recently told me I reference it in almost every conversation XD)
